Just curious as to who decided on the greatest rock albums of the 60's and 70's

Just curious as to who decided on the greatest rock albums of the 60's and 70's? The Sex Pistols, Blondie and Moby Grape were recognized but NOT the Beatles Sergeant Peppers (arguably the best R & R album of all time), The Stones Let it Bleed and Sticky Fingers or Led Zeppelin's II and IV which contained Stairway to Heaven???? These authors must have been smoking a lot of pot when they wrote this.

Find your favorite music and music facts

Nicely organized into artists of the 60s, followed by the 70s, etc, Rock Trivia Madness makes it easy for readers to find their favorite bands or discover new favorites by name. Short paragraphs highlight popular recordings and provide interesting snippets of history – where did the name The Who come from, for example. With details about “jam band” through “folk rock” to “industrial rock,” plus everything beyond and in between, readers will learn the meanings of modern musical terms while enjoying memories of days gone by. And each section ends with “random fun facts”—did you know only one of the Beach Boys really surfed? The chapters on Great Albums offer plenty to help a new listener create a great collection. And Test Yourself questions and answers provide plenty of entertainment and fodder for quiz nights with friends. Rock Trivia Madness would be a cool gift to share with anyone who’s lived through the music of the 60s to 90s, or been forced to listen so often they learned to like it. Have fun and enjoy fun musical trivia. Disclosure: I got it on a deal.

‘Starting in the mid-50s, a new kind of music would emerge that took from blues, country, R& B, and other genres’

Enjoyable

If you are rather young, or never really delved much into the music you listened to, you will probably learn quite a bit. However, if you are a real music geek, disc jockey, or just plain curious, and nosey about your favorite music, and bands...you probably already know most of what's here. None the less, it's a fun, enjoyable read, and a nice reminder of times, and music past.

A tea spoon about everything

It's a good book for beginners in rock music. Just general info about the most outstanding bands and singers. Some interesting facts, trivia. No special analysis in deep.

Never Knew

Nevermind stretched into different era such as the one introduced by rapper m&m and many others before them such as TRex in the 60s. Interesting overall view of rock.

Five Stars

Great book for rock n rollers

You get what you pay for...

Rather sparse detail on the artists and groups profiled. Not evident what criteria the authors used for those selected for this compilation. Writing style does little to pull the reader in or keep the readers interest. Almost seems like the authors put this book together over a weekend as a joke on those of us who bought it.

Good stuff in here

I truly enjoyed this kindle edition because of its variety in the Rock genre. Everything from the 60's to the 90's provides a little fun for everyone. Bill O'neill knows what he is talking about when he wrote this. His trivia books are outstanding and I can definitely recommend him

interesting I'm told

I added this to a gift bundle for a music lover. He enjoyed it. It arrived undamaged and on time so no issues.
